Hope summer is looking good for y'all. Man, been shedding the drum chair for "Wicked". Great music and a tough drum chair to fill! Lots-o-stuff to do.
I haven't prepared this hard for a gig in years. I enjoy the challenge and gotta give John Mader major props for knowing how to really prepare a sub. I hope to be summer sub for Mader (Jeff Redlawsk, main sub, is doing Spamalot).

In mid July I'm off to Mexico for hit with Frank Martin and Marc VW headlining at a jazz festival in San Cristobal de las Casas. Never been there, looking forward to the gig and the hang.

Rhythm Rocks Summer Camp coming to The Jazzschool again, and I'll be joined by Jeff Weinmann and new teacher Matthew MacGilevray this Summer (July 13 to July 17)

Also have some hits with singers Elaine Lucia, Kat Parra and others. Check GIGS tab for more info on gig schedule, and do say hello if you come by,ok?

MIRACLES HAPPEN!

Yeah, I'm proud and hopeful about the new man in la casa blanca. On election night I was in NYC, upper east side, whoopin' and hollerin' off my 21st floor balcony to all those folks doin' the same from above and below...several city blocks errupted in joyous amazement! Incredible experience. My roomate from Italy, Paolo Bollo was amused by the whole thing. They were almost as amazed and pleased in Italy as we liberals were here.

...and so I'm back home from my Cirque du Soleil gig...puttin' the pieces back together...teaching at numeous schools...did a hit with Kenny Werner and Betty Buckley at Yoshi's San Francisco..working with several singers, Ellen Robinson, Anna Estrada and Elaine Lucia...cd release with Fiveplay coming up..recording sessions with guitarist Brian Pardo, doin his originals...looking forward to that...also recording with guitarist Karen Segal doin' her originals as well...check gig page for upcoming gigs with Art Lande, Paul McCandless, Bruce Williamson, Dan Zemelman Quartet, Fred Randolph Qunitet and Trio...more to come...we all gotta just keep on movin' ahead...wishin' you all the best in these tough times!
